ALSO

we have a blog for next year's Hetalia Day and the banner is a substitute until TOL can make an America one. http://www.hetaliaday.blogspot.com/

Hetalia Day 2010 was awesome!

We had like 15 or something people show up! and the following countries:
  • America
  • Poland
  • Hungary
  • Germany
  • England
  • Russia (not in costume)
  • Prussia (red-contact-awesomeness included)
  • Chibitalia
  • Holy Roman Empire
  • China
  • I think we're forgetting someone
And lots of thank yous to our camera crew!

Notice how the first initials of the first three bullets spell APH

Now here's a quick letter to china:

Dear China,
Thank you for taking pictures. I apologize for the lemons horrible remebrance skills, for we failed to bring a camera. Would you be willing to send us most (if not all) of the hetalia day pictures? Please send them to amandajohnson@embarqmail.com That way we can put pictures on the blog and send our group photo(s) to hetalia.day@gmail, unless you could do that too? Thank you.
                                                                                Sincerely,
                                                                                        The Lemons
Anyone who isn't China(no idea what your real name is) can ignore that letter.

So... I'll conclude this post with a brief summary
We fit too many people in a booth
Had a caramelldansen contest in which the winners got to high five HRE's face
Prussia tried to give Hungary a piggy-back ride (ended bad)
Poland's wig was failtastic
Hungary gave herself a bath after much protest from Prussia
Chibitalia was adorable
I petted China's panda, when (s)he wasn't looking
We met a fan
We attacked other countries with poppers
We got soaked and almost all of us hurt the next day.
We did the flash mob (Hungary, Poland, America, and Germany were the best)
People kept eating my pony
Holy Roman Empire does NOT smoke
The yungens enjoyed our dancing
We had plenty of wardrobe malfunctions
The mcdonald's lady had no sense of humor
...And there were gang-rapes galore!

That wasn't very short.

Shcedule Change??

Yes, there is a change~
Instead of ending at eight, it's ending at six in the morning.

(lol, no, at night.)

Italicizing is cool, so yeah

'Nother email from the Hetalia Day folks

Oh, I'm so excited >.< Hetalia Day is coming up so fast! Since it is, there's a few things everyone should be reminded of. So, I got this email, and it pretty much covers everything, so CHECK OUT THE LINKS IN THE FIRST PART BY NÚMERO UNO . Seriously :]

"      If you'd like to stop receiving emails from me, reply with a blank email.

Hetalia Day 2010 is almost upon us!
The latest count shows we have 35 countries participating, with 161 meetups. You Hetalia fans are amazing!
Some of us are celebrating early, so here are the last-minute reminders:

1) We have a code of conduct, available in four languages. There's also guidelines for cosplay and a flag etiquette guide.  If you haven't seen them, please do.

2) You are asked to submit at least one group photo to hetalia.day@gmail. (You can view last year's here). The said photo(s) will be uploaded to the main site, hetalia-day.com, to the Facebook fanpage, and possibly to other Hetalia-related websites. So make sure it's a photo you're comfortable sharing. (If you can, please take photos with your national flag included. The flag of your country, not the character you're cosplaying XD If that's not possible, a banner/poster indicating your location would suffice.)
3) If there's any changes in your event (cancellation, rescheduling, etc.), please inform me. Even if you post it in Hetalia@LJ, I might have missed it.

4) Have fun!

~APH Day 2010

So, yup! That was the email. On the flag etiquette guide, America's flag was listed under both U.S.A. flag and American flag. That was kinda cool B] Does anyone know where we can get an American flag? My little sister has a bunch, but I'm not sure where they are . . . and she probably wouldn't let me use them in the first place.

 ---
Oh, and other update news!
We are, in fact, going to do the Flash Mob Dance. Votes are in, and it looks pretty unanimous. We can pretend the person not caring is a Matthewian or something. This is so cool!  . . .  but I only know the dance partly to step three, and hardly even that. Mostly step one and two. But anyone who knows the other steps will  just end up with a solo (are they called solos (palindrome!) when you dance?)

ALSO
It looks like we're going with Good Girls Go Bad (beh. I don't care about proper grammar at the moment.) as the music video~ For all of you who voted for a song that didn't get picked but you really wanted it to, too bad, suck it up it'll be okay, it just gives us another reason to meet up . . .  8D
Yeah. So. I think that  might be it~

Lemon 1

P.S. Hahaha, no, this isn't done. I seem to do this a lot, sorry people ^^"

hm. My tummy growling.

---anyway! It turns out that the opinionless (what?! that's not a word?? Blasphemy!) robots won out on the vote about lemon3. So it's been decided that she's going to the funeral and coming to Hetalia Day at, like, 12:30 or somewhere around there.

AHHHH
Pasta?

SCHNELLER!!!!

Japan, you were spotted by Lemon 1 and Somethingsomethingmeowmeowface~ AND IT WASN'T EVEN AT SCHOOL!! HOWCOOLISDAT?!?!?! : D

*coughcough*

*shifty eyes*

Freak out is over . .

Monday, October 18, 2010

5 days!

It's getting down to the final days! (and some of us haven't even got our costumes ready or started *cough*lemon1*cough*)

It looks as if the temperature is going to be a high of 52°F and a low of 38°F.
So, we will most likely be able to have the picnic (:
Please comment on what you're bringing, just to double check.
And feel free to make any food requests.
And I suppose we'll have to stop by Mickey D's, America insists. So you might wanna bring extra spending money. Just in case.
um.. I can't think of anything else. Does anyone know if there is an outlet at the park??..

Oh and I'm coming over to your house thursday (I'm pretty sure) lemon1, I didn't wanna have to email you, this was just much more convenient.

Sunday, October 17, 2010

I can't believe it!

Did you guys see how many people commented about Hetalia Day on the flash mob video (step 1)??!
:D

P.S. from now on I (lemon3) will talk in purple, that way you'll know who says things

(TOL will steal that idea and type in yellow. If you can't read it, highlight it :U!)

FLASH DANCE

WE NEED TO USE SOMEONE'S ADDRESS FAST!!! We could get like a gift or something (hetalia related of course) Please our families are all very curious and there is no way we could explain Hetalia to them.

Ha ha ha, I'm sure those of you who get the (Francey) joke are snickering right now. That's what somethingsomethingmeowmeowface (whoa~ that's long) mistakenly called the Flash Mob Dance today at the lunch table. Then, she caught what she was saying, and was like "Wow, that sounds wrong." We realized that if you add mob in the middle, it doesn't sound much better. Oh, well, it just shows how cool the dance actually is.

Hey, does anyone know how to rent a P.O. box at the post office? There might be something coming in the mail, but I'm afraid to give out my actual address, because my parents usually check the mailbox during school hours... so yeah.

Oops, I forgot what I was supposed to say, earlier, but now I remember: Anyone who wants/needs to practice the Flash Mob Dance is welcome to do so with us lemons~ You can find us in the world language area at the SC! We'll be the ones sitting by the wall (most likely) or else dancing, or else holding hands in a circle and singing songs. If all esle fails, just use the code word :]

Saturday, October 9, 2010

I'm worried?

Okay, I seriously want to know how many robots we have coming to hetalia day.
And just to let you know, we have a few rules about robots attending:

  • NO ROBOTS
  • everyone knows that the zombies and the robots are going to team up and attack and then all the incognito pirates will have to save the world.
  • So I'll say it again, NO ROBOTS, thankyou

~this message was brought to you by lemon3~

Mystery?

Okay, so us lemons met one of you today. It was so cool, the codeword actually worked! It was Japan, right? (My memory fails at important moments like these.)

And people, don't forget to comment to the URGENT post~
And don't forget to vote, either :3

URGENT

Okay, so for Hetalia day I NEED to know how many people we're expecting. Sure there's a list on the side, but that might not be everyone, and some of you might be bringing friends. So please just give a shout out in the comments below~ (lemons, you can just email me or whatever.) EDIT: Please ignore my lack of technological logic (again). Lemons, you can just edit this and put your number up. Except for you, lemon3, because we're not done voting, yet.
I'll have a counter, and whatever number it's at by Sunday is how  many we'll expect to be coming. This is a request from Tokyopop, so please comment!

ALSO there's something really cool for Hetalia Day that I strongly suggest we participate in. I'll just take it out of context:

"I have mentioned this back on the Hetalia livejournal, but of course things get pushed down.

I have the idea of trying to get as many Hetalia Day gatherings to do the flashmob dance.

If you don't know what the flashmob dance is, it was a dance done after the European Song Contest 'Eurovision'. And MANY cities across Europe participated in the dance.

Eurovision 2010 Flash Mob Dance

(Yes, enjoy all of the little boys Spain has in their dance.)

EDIT: If you'd like to learn the dance (You do /not/ need to learn it, it is a freestyle dance if you'd like it to be.) here is the link from Eurovision itself~

NOW~ You do NOT need to know how to dance or need to do any formal dance. But we would like you to record it and have somebody wave the flag of the nationality(ies) at the meet up. You just have to have fun doing a dance or something like that.

Once you record about a 30 seconds to 1 minute of dancing, please send it to me via my e-mail. I will provide all the organizers who are participating with my e-mail when it comes to that time. I will make one BIG video of all our flash mobs and put it on Youtube. It will span the 7 minute song.

Hetalia Day Buffalo will officially head the Flash Mob Dance for we're the organizers of the dance. We will have a list of participating cities who'll do the dance. :3

PLEASE~ Say something here and I will add your gathering to the list!"

We should really be added to the list. Let's vote on it. Heyheyhey! This is NOT going to be our music video, by the way. It will be something separate. And learning the dance would be awesome, because seriously: What if every other group participating learns the dance and is totally epic, and then we're shown and are like, "tralala . . yeah, some of us have no beat whatsoever. Hey, let's do the Johnny Bravo! Oops! I was doing the Twist. Whateva~"
. . . that would just look silly on YouTube. And, dude, if you don't want to dance, we will force you to do it anyway, or else suffer the consequences of England's cooking will just let you watch or help with pushing stop and play on the music or cheer us on or something. Sound good? And there are four parts to the dance, if you didn't catch the suggested videos in the sidebar on YouTube :] it would be cool to do the funky chicken. Okay, I just watched the fourth part and it really looks hard, so . . we can just do the first three, if you guys want. The video would be long enough. BUT IF THERE ARE SOME BRAVE, BRAVE SOULS ATTENDING THIS GET-TOGETHER, YOU CAN BE OUR AWESOME FINALE ={D

Ah haha, this post isn't over. What's the plan on a signboard? Are we going to have one? We have to take pictures with either it or America's flag (which I won't mind one bit). Yeah, please reply to ALL of this in the comments below by Sunday.

P.S. Yaaaaaaay! I got to meet you (if you're you, you know who I'm talking about)! It was really nice to meet you 8D

Monday, October 4, 2010

I met you :D / Pasta part du

First of all, "du" is "two" in Lithuanian. TOL(well, me, for this post) loves that language and uses it a lot..sometimes. It's quite difficult to teach yourself a language :C

Second, I met one of you today! Totally awesome C:
And I think Lemon 3 and I met another one of you today, but we were kinda confused.. Blame it on Monday morning and us not being the brightest crayons in the box. So, if that was you, sorry! Try again tomorrow? Cx

And just in case something like that happens again, we've come up with the codeword to make sure it's us, and so we don't have a stupid spell again.
Just ask us "Pasta?" and we'll know what you're talking about C;

See you then~!

♫ Music Video! ♪

We were thinking about doing a cosplay music video because it sounds incredibly fun.

We have songs up for votes (that means you vote for the song you want to cosplay/videotape/direct/whatever in the comments)

lemon3's picks:
best friends- toy box
I'm a korean (We would need a south korea)
Good Girls Go Bad- Cobra Starship
Barbie Girl- Aqua (Polands and we can have everyone else take a turn being ken :P)

Lemon 1's picks:
Always- Erasure (it's 'cause you showed us that robot unicorn attack game, tol)
um . . . I'll keep thinking

commentee's picks:
Draw a circle, there's the earth (Maru Kaite Chikyuu)
I'm on a Boat- the lonely island ft. T-pain

all you lemons have to pick your songs

and anyone who has suggestions of songs or opinions they'd like to share, don't forget to comment!
VOTING ENDS 10/20/10
YOU MAY NOT VOTE FOR YOUR OWN PICK.

If you don't know what a cosplayed music video is, here are a couple links to some of the lemon's favorites:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8M2KvN1YQc
http://www.youtube.com/user/XMoonLilyX#p/u/13/sGvBkaiUjto

P.S. If you have a video camera and you can and want to bring it, please do because only one of the lemons has a video camera (and it's not very good), and it's kinda necessary to have one (or more) for a music video. We do have regular photo cameras though.

A pony game preview

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qW-iNXmLQfM

No! It is abosolutely not copying! We've just.. uh.. been inspired

I can't remember what this post was supposed to be about

There was another purpose for this post, Lemon 3 mentioned it earlier, but  it has completely slipped my mind.

So.

What do you guys say to an epic game of Twister? Like, one with multiple blanket things with the dots (what are those called?) and a lot of awesomeness?

We hung flyers up in the high school. Also, I might not be able to come, depending on if I can convince my parents to leave Wisconsin early or not. ): And twister is not fun (the mat thing gets crumpled and some of us are wearing skirts!), we also nixed the game of risk.

How DARE you diss Twister! It is one of the best games ever invented, and helps people learn right from left, and hands from feet. That is why you wear socks--it's supposed to be played with socks, it even says on the mat, and . . . oh, yeah. Well, if France came, he wouldn't mind.

ALSO, if you go to our school (North or South Campus) pleaaase come say hi!
Our first hour is Spanish, and in the morning we hang out near the world map/flags posters. You'll know us when you see us, and we'd lovelovelove to meet some more fans!!

World Conference

Okay! So, today we were walking through town cause we wanted to and we hung a flyer up in Citadel Games. We asked the worker if we could use one of the rooms for a while (1:00-2:30). It's really perfect for a World Conference, and it's well within walking distance of the park. Much closer than the school and the library, and if anyone else is there, they will be fellow nerds instead of..library people or something.

Citadel Games is sooo cool.

Hasta la pasta!

P.S. Our Germany has said that she doesn't want to be apart of this madness, so we'll need a Germany.
But, if no one is able to be Germany I think it would be pretty funny if Italy took over the conference cause Germany was "sick".  Our Germany has said she's only coming for a couple hours (party pooper). So whatever.

Friday, September 24, 2010

...pasta?

Okay, so we were all discussing and we came to a conclusion.

When we all meet up at the park, to identify/locate everyone participating in Hetalia Day, once you get there you MUST shout Paaassssssstttttttttttaaaaaaaa~!! as loud as possible. Then, we shall gather you up and get you introduced to everyone already there. If you happen to be the first one there, which I doubt you will be, just hang out or something til someone else comes shouting pasta.

ALSO make sure you comment! We need to know what you guys think too. And if you are for sure able to come. And check back often. We have updates ALL the time. thankyou :)

(Also also, if you happen to go to our school, don't be afraid to come say hi!  It probably won't be very hard to spot the one girl in school who wears a flower in her hair every day and her lovely companions C:)

Our flyers are gone :C

TOL

So I checked on our flyers after school today, and they were both gone. Either someone stole them or a teacher took them down, but either way, they're MIA and we'll have to put some more up later.

Also, we have a very rough estimate of ten people coming now!
We have another friend working with us (though she's not technically part of the team because we said so) who we'll call Nekonekomeowmeowface.. Well not really, but she said it started with Neko so we'll call her that.

We've planned a few more activities, so give us a little yay/nay and add some more suggestions, please? C:
-The Pony Game for ice breaking (we'll explain it later)
-Caramelldansen contest (see who can go the longest!)
-Other dance contest
-Risk (I'm taking over your vital regions..)
-A "world conference" that might be held in the library if we can use the room. (People with no costume can put a nametag on their forehead. No exceptions.)
-"What am I" game. More forehead nametags, ask yes/no questions until you know what you are.

Hasta la pasta~!

Possible Picnic List/Allergy List

Well, it seems that the picnic is a popular idea! Yes, everyone can bring something to the picnic if you want to, but you also don't have to if there are complications (e.g. you cook like a certain bushy-eyebrowed man, don't know what to make, have limited access to a place to make something, etc.). Also, you don't have to make it. Bought things are also welcome.

So far there will probably be:

Sandwiches
Spoons, forks, sporks(? maybe), knives (aaaaaaall plastic)
Cupcakes (*fistpump* YES :{D)
Hot Chocolate
Animal Crackers (the frosting-covered kind)
Rice Cakes
Melon Bread (possibly)

or MickeyD's if it's too cold.

If you are for sure bringing something don't spike it please~ just tell us in the comments below, or use the email address. Thanks :]

ALLERGIES-----

Ah, horrible things =.=" We don't want any allergic reactions to any of the amazing food that's gonna be here, so if you have an allergy to anything (yeah, pretty much anything) please notify us in the comments, or the email is open. Pleasepleasplease reply to this part, it will help a loooooot, and help you guys stay safe ;u;

This doesn't necessarily mean you have to not put something on the list (when there is one) in your food, it mostly means tell us if your food contains something on the list. Okay?

Here, I'll start it off:

Cats (though hopefully there will be none in the food?)
Peppers

Meet the Team!

The Original Lemon decided to make this entry, because she thought it was a little creepy that the people planning this were so..anonymous.
Also, please send your RSVPs to amandajohnson@embarqmail.com so we don't miss your comment! (or if you can't comment)

LEMON 1:
This is kinda me, the mod with the blog under her email address. I found out about Hetalia Day and was instantly like "Oh my gosh, that would be super cool to have one here!" but was a little too shy to make a blog all by myself--hey, three heads are better than one, right? More ideas, more fun. It really means a lot that other people are actually coming. Thank you so much, I'm really excited. You can call me Lemon 1, AKA the indecisive one who wants to be every single character for Hetalia Day (which totally isn't happening). There's a possibility I might be Lithuania. Or else Monaco. Or maybe Romano, or Pirate!Spain, or Finland, or Russia, and you probably get it. I've lived in Minnesota for seven years, and just a few hours ago it was confirmed that I still have an accent, according to the Minnesotans that were over. I am a writer, though it's probably hard to tell, and I like to paint, and really like to draw. My top five favorite Hetalia characters (in no order, if you make me choose, I will seriously frying pan you) are: Lithuania, Poland, America, Spain, Romano, Prussia, Hungary, Russia, and that was seven, my bad. I can't stand wearing turtleneck shirts, and don't normally like people hugging me unless my hands are cold. I like to help people? Usually. Interpret that however you want.  Anyway, there is a broken key on this keyboard, which makes it rather difficult to type, so this is probably the end of my intro paragraph. Thanks, again, guys :]

LEMON 3:
Hey everybody! I'm Lemon Number Three or just Lemon 3. I'm going to be dressing up as Poland (school uniform version) for Hetalia Day. I have A LOT in common with Poland, which can be a good or bad thing. Although my favorite color is not pink, it is orange.  I have an oreo addiction, kinda. I love to draw and sing and play games. I love to listen to music (NOT justin beiber, miley cyrus, jonas brothers, etc.) Fat cats pwn. Skinny cats are losers. (TOL was the original lemon, even though L1 came up with the username) I love to read and watch anime, mostly Hetalia. I have horrible procrastination problems. I have brown hair, brown eyes, and pale skin. I'm related to a bunch of gingers. I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up. I'm indecisive and have opinion changes all the time. I love rollercosters, not wimpy ones. I seriously am not good at coming up with things to say about me. Is this too long? too short? I dont know! ugh. I'm currently wanting some sour gummy worms. I completely don't get handegg (america calls it football) and I love how if  you get a text and you don't want to talk to whoever texted you, you can just pretend you didn't have your cellphone at the moment. Is there anything else I should add? Oh yeah! And mountain dew is WAY better than mellow yellow.

THE ORIGINAL LEMON:
I was probably supposed to be Lemon 2, based on the others' numbers, but since I've been using the nickname "Lemon" for about two years now, "Lemon 2" just doesn't fly with me, y'know? Anyway, I'm the youngest of the team, because I'm a summer child, and I do all of the artwork for the blog. The profile picture, banner, flyers? All me, bby. I'm the one with brown hair and a flower, and the green eyes (that are actually hazel but I cheat because..because). I'll be dressing up as Hungary(who guessed?) for Hetalia Day, in her historical "Children's Day" outfit. My favorite Hetalia characters are Lithuania, Hungary, and Prussia, (I see what'cha did thar.) and I have six fancharacters that I actually use. If you want to get technical, I've made about 15. My hobbies are drawing, reading, and being a total geography/history nerd. I've memorized one heckuvalot of capitals and flags, and I love taking my History textbook home just to read it. I'm also very interested in languages, and along with learning Spanish in school, I'm trying to teach myself Lithuanian. It's such a beautiful language. Also, this is all my fault, seeing as I introduced the other two to Hetalia. See you at Hetalia Day *wink wink nudge nudge*
Also, my favorite color is yellow. Remember that. (You can shorten The Original Lemon to Tol[like a toll booth] if you want, it's kinda long)

----

Lemon 3 and The Original Lemon agreed that you can't get a really good feel for someone unless someone else describes them. So, we decided to write a little about eachother, too C:<

Lemon 1's opinions pending. Tol will edit this when she gets the goods :U

Lemon 3 on...
Lemon 1: Lemon 1 is very nice. She would never ever hit someone. Even a slug bug. She always has to make sure her(and others) grammar is correct. She is VERY detailed in her drawings, which makes them very pretty. She is quiet, by default. She can't be loud even if she tries (she thinks she can, but she's wroongg~). She has a lot of pretty skirts~
The Original Lemon: Tol is a very good drawer (that looks like I wrote drawer) and she doesn't even try. She naturally awesome. She WAS the original lemon. Steve wears Tol pajamas. She can give you the creepy eyes if you disobey her dictator queen power. She is quiet, but she's good at comebacks. And she knows all the computer slang. She was the one that got me into Hetalia. And she likes milk. A loot~

The Original Lemon on...
LEMON 1: She's a total perfectionist and very very very indecisive. She's also my brother, but that's an inside joke. And her drawings are so good it makes me mad because I want to be the very best(like no one ever was...) but I'm not >:U
LEMON 3: Can't sing. Nonono. But I can't either, so it's okay. Very Poland-ish. AND I'M NOT YOUR MOTHER (more inside jokes hurrhurr)

Lemon 1 on...
First of all, you two, I'm offended. I've been known as Lemon in my household (and by other people) since I was just a wee little thing, but I don't mention ANY of my nicknames to you guys because . .  well . . most of them are embarrassing. You guys have officially hurt my feelings. You do that a lot, you know.
LEMON 3: Maybe I'm a softie, or otherwise tone deaf, but I think she can sing the best out of all of us. She has nice outfits and is good at making people laugh. But she needs to work on staying focused on school-related things when we're in groups. She is the tallest out of us three. I find her drawings to be cute, though she doesn't seem to agree usually. Her handwriting is also very nice.
TOL: I think she sings good, too. Her drawings are also cute, especially the ones she drew on my mini whiteboard (I'm sorry I wiped your face away with my thumb, brother D:} ). She can draw a picture so fast and have it turn out nice in PEN, which is, like, an unknown concept to me. She knows a lot of Harry Potter spells, which is cool. She claims she can't cook, but from my point of view, it's yet to be proven o.ô

. . . wait . .  was I supposed to put this at the top were it says pending?

Yes, you were. But I'm too lazy to fix it c:
And if you don't tell us anything, you can't expect us to know it :U
-still TOL no matter what you say C:

Figured you'd say that. :] Why is this still italicized??
Okay, better. Do you want a list of all the things I'm known for? It would be long, embarrassing and fourteen years worth of stuff. Not exactly something easy to find an opportunity to talk about. :I

Activities List (sort of)

Hello, all! This is just a short update before the real stuff: Us lemons have been collaborating over here for a while, and so far there are for sure going to be a Poland and a Hungary and an America attending. And another Poland (Femneko!Poland, if I remember right), a China or Japan, and Chibitalia. Woo hoo this is getting awesomer and awesomer :{D

UUUUPDATED~
Okay, onto the real subject. There are a lot of awesome things we really wanna do . . but . . sometimes gravity and other things get in the way. Despite setbacks like these, we have still come up with some fun activities. Here's the list:

Caramelldansen Contest- Whoever can dance the Caramelldansen the longest wins! What do they win? A high five We can decide on here, ideas are welcome (as long as they're not too costly).

Other dance contests-It doesn't really matter if you can dance or not. Take me for example: rhythm? I have none whatsoever :]

Risk- . . . Is that the game where you try to get world domination? I'm going to be scared if there's a Russia coming.

"What am I" game. More forehead nametags, ask yes/no questions until you know what you are. Kinda like that one number game, but with objects, instead.

The Question Game- You understand this one, right?

The Norwegian Foot Game- *le wink* You pretty much stand in a circle and touch your feet to other people's, in order, whilst attempting to keep your balance.

The Pasta Game- Have we all heard of Olly-Olly-Oxen-Free (there are various ways to spell it)? If not, it's that one game where there are hiders and one seeker. If we play it will be in the park, and everyone will have to hide in the premises. The seeker will close their eyes and count to a number, then shout "PASTAAAAAAA~" and the hiders will have to make a dash for the designated meeting point without getting tagged by the seeker, who will also be running towards the point (there are different versions of the game, too, and you can suggest yours in the comments). This was a really bad explanation, but oh well.

The Pony Game- Haha, a great game to break the ice with. Throw awkward out the window and have some fun. We're all Hetalia fans, here, right? (it's ironic because I, aka Poland, introduced it to them)

Conference! A wonderful room with pretty walls where we can "sort things out" at Citadel Games.

If there are any games not on the list that you reeeally want to play, give a shout in the comments below :{D

43 Days!

Hetalia Day in 43 days. Is no one really going to come besides us? Sure, that will be awesome, and not much to keep track of, but spending the day together with other fans we don't know and "breaking the ice" with fun activities would also be nice. Don't you think? If you can't make it, spread the word! Let others join in on the fun in the Brainerd Lakes area!

Oh, and before I forget--the code of conduct. It's best if you follow it if you do plan on coming (though this one is from LA, and I don't think littering is illegal in Brainerd or Baxter, but that may just be my ignorance talking). We, the moderators of this blog, have to ask you to comply to it. So, please do, we don't want to have to kick you out of the fun (or maybe we do, depending on who you are). Really, though, we have to be relatively safe. You can read it in the link below:
http://hetalia-day.com/2010/codeofconduct.html

Hm, this is the first update in September, right? Yeah, school has started for a lot of fans out there, and it  may be difficult, especially if unknowing teachers decide to dump a bunch of homework on that particular weekend. If you come early, you can probably bring some along, if you have your name in your books and stuff. Wouldn't a Hetalia study group be cool (sorry, I'm bird-walking)?

Anyway.

43 days, if you're coming RSVP to any post here, if you're not, please tell others. Thank you!

. . . does that sound too bizarre?

Flyers!

One of the team members has sacrificed a good chunk of her time and sanity to making flyers to advertise the event. There are three versions, each featuring a different Hetalia character (Hungary, Lithuania, and Prussia). We're going to put a few of these up around town, and soon we'll have them up on the blog so you can print them out and put them in your town, too. Spread the word!

Edit:
Here are the flyers!

Hungary Version
Lithuania Version
Prussia Version

To use: pick which version you want to use, click the link, then copy it, and paste it into a Word(or equivalent program) document. It should fit well in 0.79" page margins. (Although I use OpenOffice and it might be different.) Then it's ready to be printed out! If you live in a different town you might want to add that it is in the Brainerd/Baxter area.
EDIT: Testing has shown it works much better when you put the image in MS Paint and print it :)

Meeting Place

First of all, we have slightly edited the first post. Go read that.

Second, we have decided to meet at the Gregrory Park fountain at 10:00AM. Gregory Park is surrounded by Juniper Street, North Fifth Street, North Seventh Street, and North Holly Street. So look for a corner of two of them and you will most likely see the park.

The fountain probably won't be running, so you might have to look for a big, round, concrete doughnut. The fountain is near the center of the park.

Remember to RSVP if you're coming or thinking about coming.

Hetalia Day 2010

Okay, there are two, if not four, avid Hetalia fans using this blog. We want to set up a meeting place for all the other great fans in Minnesota. Unless you think we're awesome (like Prussia) and want to travel hundreds of miles to join us.

Here is some information.

The time is uncertain, but everyone should know the day, October 24th, aka Hetalia Day. We were thinking somewhere around 10:00 am to 8:00pm, but we're not sure how that will work with other people's lives.
We are going to see if we can get a room *wink*  at the library or the high school and maybe we might go to the park.

Picnic anyone?
I might bring sandwiches, since I've been told I have good meat.

We might bring plates and eating utensils if anything requires them. It's going to be a little chilly, so maybe some hot chocolate (just a thought)? You are welcome to bring picnic things too. Depending on the weather it may be an inside picnic. It will probably be inside because you know how cold it gets.

Costumes are not required, but enjoyed.
And if you do dress up as a character please act like your character.

We'll be playing games (e.g. the pony game, skits, improv, whatever games you come up with, etc.) if someone has a camera, they can take pictures, video cameras are welcome too. But try not to get too crazy, like attacking people or groping them.

Oh, please be respectful to (my guess is utterly confused and slightly disturbed) passerbys.

We'll have updates as to what's going on. Please RSVP in the comments so we know how much stuff we need.

Hm, even though it seems like we wrapped this up, we forgot the location! Okay, it will be in the Brainerd/Baxter area, if anyone knows where that is. (Crow Wing County)

Okay. We're done . . for now.

If you have any questions please ask in the comments or email us at amandajohnson@embarqmail.com

If you need to stay overnight, there are many hotels in the area. Two or three have nice water parks.
